The history of Ophthalmological Center of Zhongshan University (Zhongshan University Eye Hospital) first dates back to the ophthalmology Bureau, founded in 1835 by Peter Parker, the earliest Western Hospital in China. On this basis, in October 1965, Professor Chen Yaozhen and Professor Mao Wenshu founded the ophthalmology hospital of Zhongshan medical college.
